Overall Review On My Website

One my website has completed, I showed the final design to my cilents, this allowed me to get fetedback which allowed me to change a few things on the website.

The Things That Were Good
The good things were that the colours stood out and had a nice layout, the contents of the website was good and all inks and pictures worked.
As a group, we chose to make our website a unisex website which also was a good point as we would get more sales and more views on our site.

The Things That Were Bad
The bad things about out website was that there was not enough information on the text we put, there wasn't a logo and some buttoms didn't work.
These wasn't much bad points but made a big differece has the cilents noticed.

The Changes
The changes I made on the website were that I put the logo in the top right corner, and i added an email function on the contact page.
Our clients thought we should change our header and footer colour to red so it stands out more, so we change that to red as it was blue before.
We also added more links to or website so it functions around the whole page no matter what page the user is on.

Fireworks

Fireworks is a program that edits bitmaps and vector images.It is designed to integrate easily with other former Macromedia products, such as Dreamweaver and Flash

Fireworks is a program that we can change, edit and compress our images on.
It allowed us to rotate pictures how I wanted and allowed me me to make the image bigger or smaller.
Fireworks allowed me to then save my image as a gif which I can use for animation and will allow my image to be transparent.

Deadlines

All the tasks that were set have deadlines, these deadlines were hard to keep up with because they were many assignments to do.
At the end I stuck to my word and handed in all my assignments on time. There were only a few assignments which I asked for a later deadline.

Purpose Of HTML and CSS

Html is used to create the basic elements of a webpage e,g the header, Advance web coding like javascipt can manipulate the basic elements with is good becuase we wouldnt need to change any of the HTML coding around

HTML can be used to code an entire website, but for more complicated sites other languages are generally used in cooperation with HTML.

CSS is a webcoding which allows you to change variopus eleemts on the webpages so you dont have to edit each webpage.

Large websites use CSS, this can help them have a consistant layout.

Without CSS you would need to change each layout one by one on each page.

CSS saves alot of time and effort.

CSS is separated from the html code so we can change the layout on each page without having to go to each page to change them. CSS is good for this feature because it will save time and it will allow the user to change certain bits on all pages with just a few changes of letters and numbers.

PNG Files

PNG files have layers and allows it to be edited it in graphic programs that supports layers. PNG files were designed to transfer images onto the internet and not for professional use.

Different Image Files

Today, I learnt that I can compress a JPEG files without changing its quality of it. I Learnt That GIF images can only store 256 colours and that they can be animated and transparent. Having images compressed will allow me to upload pictures onto my website faster so that my website will load quicker when users go onto them. It is good to compress files so that the users internet doesn't run slow and so that they dont run out of downloads.

Group Work

Today, Me and my team mates (Odi & Zack) have discussed about what we are going to put on our website. We came up with many idea's on how to make our website look appealing.
We decided what pages we were each going to do and make a plan.
We will design a layout this week to help us design our final website.

Logo

In my group we was all told to make 3 logo's and to chose which one is the best and why. We chose this logo on the left because it stands out with the colours I used and it also has a picture of trainers on there which represents the work 'Sneaker'
This logo is a good chose because its a simple logo which stands out to the crowd.

Comparison of wireframes

The two online wireframe tool‘s I used were mock flow and mxgraph.

These to wireframes are good but I think that mock flow was a better tool than mxgraph.
I think this because there are more components to design a website and there are also templates.
Also on mock flow, the user can create pages which I think is useful as the user can create each page with the same header and footer in the same place.
Mxgraph wasn’t really great for me as it didn’t have a lot of layouts and components to create a quick template for my website. However, Mxgraph will be good for creating a sitemap has it has simple shapes and lines.
I would use wireframe for my design because I found it easier to create a simple template for my main website and I found that the components were quicker to build shapes and layouts.
